Henry Clay

Henry Clay was born April 22, 1777.  He grew up on a small farm in Hanover County, Virginia where he was raised by his parents, John and Elizabeth Clay.  Being a less than average lad, Henry enjoyed playing in the mud wherever he could find it.  On Henry's 18th birthday he decided to take a digging trip to the shores of the mighty "Snakey Pond."  While spelunkering the depths of the soil he happened upon a strange form of mud, one that was more malleable and easier to sculpt.  Realizing that his discovery was one of great import, Henry utilized the creative recesses of his "sissy brain" and decided to label this new brand of "fun mud" clay, after his own name.  (In the journals titled "Henry, the Finder of More Fun Dirt," it is explained that he named this mud after himself because he was the one who found it.)
Obviously Henry's discovery is one of the greatest in History.  Without clay, no elementary school child could make pots, cups, and bowls.  Those same children would have nothing to accidently break later, and nothing to play with and ruin the carpet with.  Dare you imagine it?
I believe it is obvious that Henry Clay was a geological and ascthetic "master man."  If you're reading this, please go out and buy some clay and remember this great man.
